Appraisers of Fine Art, Antiques, Collectibles, and Household Goods, since 1965
When submitting a set of porcelain or semi-porcelain (earthenware), for an online evaluation (appraisal) we
need the answers to the question on the "porcelain to pottery" page plus:
7) A count of the number of pieces and their
approximate dimensions or a description as to what they are (see commentary below).
The same items are counted as
one item (i.e. six dinner plates) while different items are counted. Remember:
If you have a set of two or three non-identical
items then the cost is:
$25 for the set.
If the set has four to six non-identical items then the cost is:
$30 for the set.
Commentary
Coffee and/or tea sets usually consists of a pot (coffee and/or tea),
a creamer, sugar (lidded or not) and sometimes has cups & saucers, a serving tray, biscuit plate etc.
Generally sets
of dinnerware have some combination of dinner plates (approx 10.5" dia), luncheon plates (approx 8" dia), side plates (approx
6" dia), soup bowls, cereal bowls, lidded tureens, open vegtables, platters (i.e. turkey platter), gravy boat (with or without
underplate), coffee pot, tea pot, tea cups & saucers, coffee cups, demi-tasse cups etc. We do need a picture of each item,
rather we need a good quality picture of the whole set.
As with all on-line evaluations, appraisals, the more of the
above informations that you provide, the more accurate our online evaluation, appraisal will be.
